The REC Code of Practice

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) - The REC is the representative body for the UK’s £27 billion private recruitment and staffing industry with a membership of more than 8,000 corporate members comprising agencies and businesses from all sectors and 6,000 individual members made up of recruitment consultants and other industry professionals. All members must abide by a Code of Professional Practice.

The REC Code of Professional Practice creates a clear framework of values and principles that supports and underpins the meaning of REC membership. The Code focuses on the outcomes and impacts of agencies’ conduct on others whilst conducting their day-to-day activities. This Code is binding to all corporate members and their subsidiary/associate companies. Where a member operates in sectors covered by the REC’s specialist division codes of practice, the conditions are also binding.

A breach of this code or the specialist division codes will be dealt with under the REC's complaints and disciplinary procedures.
