Investment Banking is a dynamic, chaotic, exciting environment encompassing a number of different areas with varying focuses. When viewing Investment Banking as a process we can see three distinct areas; Front office, encompassing teams such as Fund Management, Research, Business Development, Sales and Marketing, Client Services, Middle office, predominantly an area of controls and operational excellence, and Back Office (in-house or supplied by a third party) under which Investment administration and operations would fall.
All three areas require individuals with numerical focus, keen eye for detail, and the ability to cope with competing and sometimes quite demanding environments. The Scottish Investment market in particular requires individuals who enjoy being visible, being held accountable, and who are flexible and motivated to succeed.
