When viewing Investment Banking as a process we can see three distinct areas; Front office, encompassing teams such as Fund Management, Research, Business Development, Sales and Marketing, Client Services, Middle office, predominantly an area of controls and operational excellence, and Back Office (in-house or supplied by a third party) under which Investment administration and operations would fall.
